I'd first interviewed Kristin Hersh in 1986, not long after Throwing Muses had released their startling debut album, on the day that the band were supporting Cocteau Twins in London. We've talked numerous times over the years, and in 2020, MOJO gave me the chance to pull on all the interviews, and a new one, alongside fresh interviews with the other Muses down the years, to lay bare the band's compelling, convoluted journey.
